Description

Morning in Grasse: The Art of Fragrance

  • Departure from Nice around 9 a.m. Approximately 1-hour drive through the countryside, with stunning views of the hills.

  • 10h Visite d’une Maison de Parfum Historique (comme GalimardMolinard ou Fragonard). Découverte des procédés ancestraux de l’extraction des essences (enfleurage, distillation).

  • Olfactory Creation Workshop (The heart of the experience). In small groups, a “nose” guides you in creating your own perfume. You choose between top, middle, and base notes, experimenting with raw essences. An introduction to olfactory grammar that educates your nose and echoes wine tasting (structure, head, body, length on the palate).

  • Light and fragrant lunch in the historic center of Grasse. Suggestions: a restaurant serving local products.

Afternoon in Bellet: The Art of Wine from the Hills of Nice

  • Route to Nice/Bellet (about 1 hour). Arrival in the hills above Nice, on the left bank of the Var, where the vineyards of Bellet (one of France's smallest AOCs) occupy sunny terraces.

  • Visit a prestigious family estate at Château de Crémat. Discover a unique vineyard where rare grape varieties such as Folle Noire (red), Braquet (red and rosé), and Vermentino (white, locally known as Rolle) thrive.

  • Guided tasting: Tasting of 3 to 4 wines (often a mineral and aromatic white, an elegant rosé, and a powerful and spicy red). The winemaker will talk to you about the schist terroirs and the influence of the Mediterranean and the Alps. Here, the morning's olfactory experience is echoed: we search for aromas in the glass (white flowers, citrus fruits, garrigue, spices), and analyze the structure and persistence. It is a tasting “educated” by the perfume workshop.

  • Free time to enjoy the breathtaking views of Nice, the Var, and the Alpes-Maritimes, often visible from the estates.

Why This Tour is Unique:

  • Dialogue of the Senses: It awakens and connects the sense of smell (perfume, wine aromas) and taste in a conscious and refined way.
  • Terroirs d’Exception: It explores two highly localized areas of excellence, rich in history and preserving traditional skills.

  • Active Experiences: It's not just a visit, but an opportunity to participate (perfume creation, analytical tasting).

  • Varied Landscapes: From the foothills of the Grasse Pre-Alps to the Mediterranean hills of Bellet, the panoramic views are breathtaking.
